~ FUNdamental Drawing
It is both fun and fundamentally important to be able to
draw out our ideas on paper. So many of our hobbies such
as scrapbooking, painting, web design, journals, photography,
poster design, and jewelry design…require a basic
ability to draw. But most of all, there is a peace found
in sketching and drawing the world around us and the things
it contains that mean the most to us. In this class we will
be learning basic pencil techniques, perspective, overlapping,
texture, composition, and proportional layout. We will be
using both live objects and photographs to draw from. The
student will need to have a sketch pad (12” X 16”
or larger), kneaded eraser and artist pencils ranging in
softness for shading.
Wed. Nights: 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Class Length: 6 weeks
Instructor: Tim Merrill
Cost: $45
~ Drawing/Watercolor Class
Art inspires personal expression by each viewing individual’s
perspective. Students will explore the natural environment
as they learn to identify lines and textures in drawing
and painting floral themes. Students will create artwork
realistically true to form and color; yet allow their own
individual perspective to influence and the quality of form
presentation. Students will be responsible for supplying
all materials. A materials list will be available for download.
Thursday Nights: 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm
Class Length: 12 weeks
Instructor: Deborah Young
Cost: $95
~ One Stroke Painting
One stroke is the quick and easy method of decorative painting
that was developed by Donna Dewberry. One stroke is a way
of painting strokes that blend, shade, and highlight in
one stroke of the brush. There are about 10 different strokes
that will be taught in the beginner series and several basic
flowers and leaves. As the student’s skills develop,
they will be able to combine the strokes and paint more
complex items such as flowers, fruits, trees, and landscapes.
We will explore painting on paper, glass, metal, fabric,
ceramic tile and other items of interest. Students will
be responsible by buying all supplies needed. A materials
list will be available to download.
Tuesday Mornings: 10 am – 12 pm
Class Length: 6 weeks
Instructor: Shirley Kretschmer
Cost: $65
